I really enjoyed this book! It is a fitting end to the crazies in Iran. Reading the aviation experiences is so thrilling.....makes you feel like you are in the cockpit too!!!
I enjoyed the "Pelosi" dig as well!!!
I hope you have another book in the works, I have read most of your books.
Thanks for great writing!

Steve,
I just finished my copy of your latest book. It was great!!!!! I enjoyed it so
much that I didn't want it to end.
Your web site it quite interesting. I have never seen one with an interactive
representative of the owner.
I'm starting Deep Black: Payback today. I wasn't sure if I would like the Deep
Black series. I read the first one to tide me over while waiting for an upcoming
Jake Grafton novel to arrive. It will be my 21st of your books.
Thanks for the
hours of reading enjoyment.
Sincerely,
Bernie Furlong

Mr. Coonts:
How can you pen a trash like this book? What proof do you have about Ahmedinajan’s sex life or sexual preference or for that matter do you really know any of the Persian history or the modern day Iran? Why was the Ayothullah Khomeini able to over throw the ruthless Shah and his Gestapo like secret service? If Ahmedinajan turned around today and said like Khadafy, that the US even though it is evil, is a friend of Iran and that they will stop enriching Uranium, will the American’s like sheep will say ‘He is a Bastard but is our bastard’ and turn away from everything like you are doing with other leaders of nations like China, Zimbabwe, Sudan to name a few.
Will you even dare to right about Clinton's sexual adventures about which the whole world is familiar? Will you even dare to write about the current President as a'nigger' in your next novel? The two jokers from Satellite radio were fired for making fun of Ms. Rice's and how will it be to copulate with her. Will you or any other English language author's dare to right about Bush and Cheney and their misadventures in Iraq? How deliberately these two with the help of Blair have massacred million Iraqi's and hood winked the Americans and the world. Would you even dare to write about the sexual fantasies of Bush or Cheney or Obama or Laura or Michelle.
Will you dare to write about Israel and their atrocities in Gaza and West Bank? Will you or can you write about Netanyahu and Sharon and how they have massacred innocent Palestinians and Lebanese children and women.
I am not a great fan of Iran or her politics. I am also not a fan of Americans playing games with millions of peoples lives. America and Americans are hypocrites. You trade with the communist Satan China, but at the same time have an embargo with Cuba? You kill Sadaam because he is a ruthless dictator and at the same time support a tin pot dictator in Equatorial Guinea because he is a buddy and Americans are running his off shore oil facilities. the list goes on and on.
What if Iran has a Nuclear Bomb? What are they going to do with this bomb? Drop it on Israel? I will bet you any money Israel or America will without any hesitation use it in Iran. Just like Iraq, the spin masters are busy spinning lies and presenting the gullible Americans that their lives are in danger in the US and Iran has to be stopped. Does anyone in America really like Israel? How can you ever achieve piece if Israel is not faithful in negotiating peace? When will they give up the occupied territories?
Ahmedinajan is a leader of a country. He is the President. You Americans may or may not like him. He is a tough customer. But you do not have to disrespect and write unsubstantiated nonsense.
I sure hope you will write an apology to your readers (non Americans) and withdraw this book from the market. I didn't complete reading this book. I threw it in the garbage. Don't even want to put this book in the recycle bin.
Yours sincerely,
Maya

Respectfully,
Dear Mr. Coonts: I just finished reading your new book, The Disciple. I enjoyed the book very much and have become a big fan of your characters Jake Grafton and Tommy Carmellini. I have read most of your Jake Grafton and Tommy Carmellini novels and hope you have future novels in mind for these characters. I wonder what a character like Jake Grafton would do as president. I don't believe he could tolerate the political correctness that our politicians think is so important. Jake Grafton would demand accountability and would take action rather than make speeches. One can always hope.
I have not read your two Saucers novels but plan to soon. Just wanted to drop you a note to let you know I have enjoyed reading your work and will be looking forward to your next novel.

Steve, Thanks for another great read. However, you really scared me with Tommy in the same building with bunker busters raining down upon him. I would surely have missed him in your next book. Fair Winds and Following Seas Wayne

I just finished THE DISCIPLE and loved it. Your plots are great but you writing is even better. So many "thriller" writers have decent plots but the writing is awful and detracts from the enjoyment of the book. I've read everything you've written and I hope to read a lot more. Long may you write.
All the best,
John Purchase February 2, 2010
Just finished the disciple and wanted to let you know that i enjoyed it very much as i did with all of your other books. hope you sent an autographed copy to ahmadinejad.

Hello Steve and Happy New Year:
I am reading your latest book and find it excellent! I just wanted to congratulate you and tell you I hope you write a sequel to this same situation.

Hi Steve
Thank you for your latest book The Disciple, which I’ve just finished reading. It was a great read
and kept me ‘inside the story’ and turning the pages right to the end. Let’s sincerely hope it remains
a book of fiction and not a prophecy of what the future holds.
I’ve only recently ‘discovered’ you, (I think this is the third of your novels I’ve read), so I’ve got
a long way to go to work my way through your extensive book list. I like the way you humanize
your characters like Tommy Carmellini by switching to the ‘first-person’.
Looking forward to your next offering.
Cheers,

Hey, Steve,
Happy new year!
I just finished The Disciple – loved it! Superb work. I continue to really like the way you alternate between the omniscient narrator and then Carmellini’s personalized narration.
I also liked how you had Carmellini have mercy upon Khurram – nice touch to highlight his underlying high character in a tough, dirty business.
Hope you lock your door at night and check your car before you drive – if anyone would dare tell Ahmadinejad about how you portray him, he’d put you on a sanction list for sure!
Much cheer,
Steve Maffeo January 7, 2010
Hello Mr. Coonts, Fascinated by your new book,The Disciples. It seems every time I pick up a periodical there is a news article about Iran, their nuclear production and their tunnels. Today's New York Times front page article about Iran's hundreds and maybe even thousands of tunnels with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad smiling face front and center came just as I finished your book.
I enjoy reading spy stories and such, but this new book of yours really strikes a raw nerve. Would Iranian Mullah leadership and Ahmadinejad really try to nuke Israel, and as you suggest, the rest of the Middle East oil fields, Bagdad, Kuwait and even Tehran?
Scary. I hope our new president finds the time to read your sobering account of what if.
Will await your new book on Eastern Europe with much interest. Thanks for listening,

Mr coonts, I have just finished reading the book "DISCIPLE", and think that is a great likeness to what the leaders of iran thinks about the rest of the world. Wwould like to know what your next book is and when it will be on book racks. I am former air force and a former ''REDHORSEMAN'' PHAN RANG AB, 1966, WE CONSTRUCTED FROM GROUND UP. I have read all your books and just finished Disciple. Set against current affairs in Iran it was great. I very much liked the change of pace writing from Tommy’s perspective. Good story telling and good character development. Best book yet. Kind of like Sanford with his Virgil Flowers character development.

Just finished reading The DISCIPLE? Great story. keep writin.
Doc Roy, December 28, 2009
Dear Mr. Coonts: Just finished reading THE DISCIPLE and wanted to share a few comments and questions. First off, what would a "techno-thriller" author like you do for story lines if the Jews and neocons at AIPAC, the AEI, and The Weekly Standard were not forever harping that "Iran's leaders are unstable men"? And, why would any sane American president take the position of, "I'm not going to sit on my thumbs doing nothing while those religious crackpots nuke Israel"? Why does the U.S. have to protect Israel from Iran when Israel is perfectly capable of defending itself? If the Mossad is convinced that Iran has developed a nuclear strike capabilty, and, therefore, poses an "existential threat" to Israel, the IDF will neutralize that threat, just as it did in Iraq and Syria. I find it hard to believe that the U.S. has not given a couple of KC-135's to the IDF, since we have given them just about everyting else in our inventory. As long as we remain joined at the hip to Israel, the Arabs/Muslims will continue to target America, which is simply great for the military-industrial complex that Eisenhower warned us about as far back as 1960. As an old fan I have just finished reading The Disciple and it is first rate. I liked it so much I am writing a favorable review on my blog. I look forward to your future books.

It's one of the best books yet.
