The Garden of Eden

Mr. Coonts - Though a voracious reader, I am NEVER moved to contact an author.  All that changed when I finished reading The Garden of Eden and learned that Eve Adams was a pseudonym. There's nothing like that to pique my interest. After a little Googling, I found my way to your site and to my great pleasure learned that you are a fellow University of Colorado Law School graduate. I absolutely loved your novel! It was such a fun and touching read. I found myself rooting for many of the characters throughout and nearly cheered out loud when Delmar got what he so richly deserved. Here’s hoping this isn’t the last we’ve heard of Eden.

The Garden of Eden - I finished this book this evening. I had read half of it a couple of weeks ago but a friend of mine had borrowed it and so I ordered another. I do prefer to read romance novels but I took your suggestion on this one. You do know that the pink book cover with the woman's sexy legs does not encourage your male readers except perhaps those who are already your fans. I know. I sometimes sit at the Fleet Reserve or the Chief's Club and read and of course some of the guys just figured it was another romance novel.  Long story short - no pun intended - I thoroughly enjoyed this book and at the end it left me feeling good.
Thanks.

Mr. Coonts,
I surely hope you wrote "The Garden of Eden" under the pen name Eve Adams.  If not, I'm about to brag on a great book to the wrong author.

Every few months I'll go to Amazon.com to get the release dates for books from my favorite authors, and this one was credited to you. (The audio book version still has your name on it at www.booksamillion.com, also.) And there's a review at Amazon for the hardback edition that says you wrote it. Hope that's not flawed information. After reading just the first chapter this past weekend, I swore it *was* you, because the humor was right up your alley.... Mrs. Ice's remark to Mrs. Carcano at the end about poor Goofy was a veiled observation about a lot of folks. "He feels more comfortable outside looking in, I guess." Very nice.

I'd ordered this book when it was released in paperback last month, and I'd just finished the Gettysburg trilogy done by Newt Gingrich and Dr. William R. Forstchen. So I needed something a little uplifting to get me away from the death and destruction of the War Between the States. This fit the bill to a "T". Great story and characterization, filled with excellent humor, and it had a happy ending. No unnecessary violent deaths, and most everybody got what they wanted out of life. Of course, you ~did~ leave a slight opening for a sequel; since Richard Hudson didn't even begin to seriously start chasing Mrs. Carcano, nor did we see if Sam Neely and Ruth Harris got anywhere. After reading Saucer I didn't know if you'd write a sequel to it, and I was glad to see The Conquest come out later. Maybe one of these days you'll get to revisit Eden. I hope so. That was a nice story in an age where you don't see too many of those anymore.

As always, your hard work is appreciated by those of us that wish we had an ounce of your talent. :-)"

"I just finished reading The Garden of Eden and did find it a enjoyable book. Couldn't put it down. I have read all your books, and found them all enjoyable, and this one was no different. Thank you for writing them."
